Welcome to Richard's Basketball Pages
Beginning with the 2006-07 Season, I began posting all data and writings about UK Basketball at BigBlueFans4UK.com
As a University of Kentucky basketball fan since my youth, I have spent considerable time over the years examining player, game and season statistics. I have also observed the coaching styles, as reflected in the pace, offensive efficiency, and defensive effectiveness of the UK teams through the years. In recent years, I have developed an objective way to measure and think about many aspects of college basketball games.
As I have worked on this project, I have recorded data and thoughts in databases and a series of essays. These pages provide you a portal to these objective measures and my inner thoughts about the game, Kentucky sports, and how these objective measures illustrate the varying coaching philosophies of Rick Pitino and Tubby Smith.
In January 2005, I began writing for CollegeHoopsNet.com. Please visit that fine site and check out all of the interesting information about college basketball that Shawn has assembled. I don't think you will be dissappointed.
If you are looking for a place where you can have informed chat with other like minded Cat Fans like you and me about Kentucky basketball, there are several free public Message Boards available.
Two of my favorites are Dynasty Defenders and Wildcats Thunder. I am a member at both, and highly recommend them to all my friends.
These sites requires you to register and establish
Dynasty Defenders was established in 2001 as a UK sports discussion forum which allows all discussion for UK Sports without overbearing moderators and in a sports' bar environment. DD can be a little rough and tumble, where all may join the discussions, and all that is required is an opinion and a thick skin. Over 3500 members and growing.
Wildcats Thunder was established in 2006 as a UK sports discussion forum which allows all discussion for UK Sports in a family oriented format. About 400 members and growing.
I invite you to explore both regions, the writings and the data. I welcome you to comment on what you find here at any time.
